Snow White choreography on CCB

"After some abstract creations, such as Empty Moves and Eldorado, Angelin Preljocaj wanted to tell a story and worked on Snow White based on the Grimm brothers’ version of the fairytale, in order to create a romantic contemporary ballet.
The fairytale is fairly well-known, which gave the choreographer more freedom to focus on the language of his 26 dancers’ bodies, symbols and space, without forgoing the direction of the narrative.
In Snow White, Angelin Preljocaj built a musical dramaturgy with some of the most beautiful scores of Mahler’s symphonies, whose romantic outlines thrilled the choreographer, combining perfectly with the wonderful universe achieved by Thierry Leproust’s set and by Jean-Paul Gaultier’s costumes."
